In my exploration of theology and religious studies, I've found that they are two distinct fields. Theology is belief-centered, focusing on a particular faith perspective and teachings, often with the intention to promote that faith. On the other hand, religious studies is more objective, studying religion as a social and cultural phenomenon across different cultures and times. It doesn't promote any specific faith but seeks to understand the broader role of religion in society. So, while both study religion, their approaches and goals are different.
