Last year, my teenager made a summer bucket list with her best friend. I thought it was cute, but didn’t pay too much attention to it. This year, I have been hearing all kinds of things about summer bucket lists.
I thought it would be fun to make one with my kids, so we all sat down together. They told me their summer dream plans, and I wrote them down. I don’t know if we will get to all of them, and some of them I am pretty sure we won’t do, but here is our summer bucket list:
- Plant a garden
- Go get ice-cream
- Go to the candy store
-
Go to Six Flags - Go to Disneyland
- Make s’mores
- Go camping
-
Go swimming - Go to Monterey, CA
- Go to San Francisco
- Go out for frozen yogurt
- Go to the beach
-
Have a BBQ at the pool - Eat pizza at the park
- Visit the kids former daycare lady
- Go hiking
- Go to the lake
-
Walk to the park - Go to the zoo
- Go to the Roseville Galleria
-
Go on a picnic -
Go to the movies - Go exploring
- Go bird watching
- Go bowling
- Go miniature golfing
- Have a family game night
- Have a family movie night
- Go to the drive-in movies
-
Go to the library - Visit the nursing home
And my teenager, always the joker, suggested that we get poison oak. I really hope that doesn’t happen. I’m putting that on the anti-bucket list!!! I think she was tired of playing along and hearing all her siblings suggestions. Teens can be a little “too cool” and sarcastic sometimes. But I love her and she makes life interesting, that’s for sure.
