Our Beach Adventure

One of the joys of homeschooling is being able to jump in the car at a moment’s notice and take an adventure! That is exactly what we did this week. I needed a reset, and the kids definitely needed a change of pace. We have been cooped up inside most of the winter. Although it has been a mild season, it has still been rainy, windy, and cold most days. Now that the sun is finally starting to come out, we needed to get out!

Our Beach Adventure

Loading everyone up and getting ready to take off on a weekday adventure!

The California Coastline

The Beautiful California Coastline

Collecting Shells

The kids had fun collecting shells and pretty rocks.

Beach Bum Baby

Baby didn’t like the wind too much, but she was happy looking at the ocean.

Hide And Seek

There were some amazing rock structures to explore.

Posing on the Beach

The kids had fun posing for photos.

3 on a rock

They climbed up every rock they could find.

This is proof that I have chilled out a lot as a mom. If my children would have tried to climb on all these rocks a couple years ago, I would have had a mini heart attack and been right next to them to catch them in case they fell. Now I just go over to shoot a few good pictures and then go back to looking at the ocean.

On the rock

They got pretty high up on this one.

Now Presenting This Rock

My teen even got out on a rock in the water.

King of the Rock

This gull was so funny. He never left his perch on this rock the whole time we were there!

Nature's looking glass

Nature’s looking glass.

Camo gull

This gull kept creeping closer to us. He probably knew he was camouflaged and thought we couldn’t see him.

A Rock's Perspective.

A rock’s eye view.

Rocks and Waves

I think this is my favorite picture of the ocean that day.

I am so glad we were able to go and have a good time. Have you went on any adventures lately?

All pictures were taken by myself or my teenage daughter, at Schoolhouse Beach in Bodega Bay, California.

I’d love to connect with you. Sign up for my weekly newsletter, or come find me on Facebook.

Miranda, I am so glad you shared your beach adventure with us! I have beach envy, lol. We’ve had snow here in Virginia for the past few weeks, so it’s nice to see the beautiful ocean and sunny skies. :) Thanks so much for linking up with us! Hope to see you again next week. 😉 xo

Hi, Miranda! Thank you for linking up with us! The pictures are beautiful, and boy is it nice to get out of the house with a little baby in tow :) I know I tend to get a bit of cabin fever the first year of my babies lives. Glad you shared your adventure with us. Hope to see you next week too :)

    • https://rahabtoriches.com/ Miranda Gonzalez

Yes I was definitely getting cabin fever! Nothing a little ocean air couldn’t cure though.

  • Mary

Yes, we love the outdoors and the beach is definitely our favorite!

  • Terri Presser

Wow it looks like you had a wonderful time and the photos are just great. I love the one of your baby girl. Don’t you have any sand on your beaches or is this a special one??? Thank you for sharing at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings

    • https://rahabtoriches.com/ Miranda Gonzalez

Yes we absolutely have sandy beaches. And in fact there was a very sandy one about a mile up. This one just happened to be pebbly. Which actually was better for this short day trip, I didn’t have to clean a bunch of sand out of everything when we got home :-)

      • Terri Presser

Yes definitely fair enough, that’s one thing I dislike about beaches and that is sand everywhere when you get home. Once again, love the pictures and a look into your life and lovely children. Blessings

    Such beautiful photos!!
The beach is my happy spot. There is nothing like listening to the waves crash and roll, it leaves me at peace. Call me crazy I love that smell too.
I am wishing I had been there with you guys!! :)
I really love the Nature’s Looking Glass Shot!

  • Shauna Lynn

That’s it, make room, I’m coming to visit. This Ohio weather is for the birds. Me and the gulls can change places. :)

  • Theresa

Ah..if only I can get to the beach this time of year! Great photos. Looks like a fun day :)

My husband has some fine memories of Bodega Bay when his sister used to live there. I’ve only been there once as we drove through it.
