Wow I can’t believe it is April already! This year has been flying by for me.
Here are the verses I will be memorizing in April. I would love to have you print them out and follow along.
I am planning to memorize the whole section about the Proverbs 31 woman this year, and try to incorporate her traits into my daily life. I think it is fitting that I am now on verses 16 and 17, as they seem very Spring-like to me. She is planting a vineyard, which would be done in the spring. I am going to be planting some roses in the next couple weeks in the front of my house, and clearing out a spot in the back for some tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini. We haven’t had a garden since we moved to this house, and I have really missed it. Especially my roses! As a bonus, I can use gardening as science for my young children. I know they will like getting their hands dirty!
As Christians, we are instructed to avoid even the appearance of evil. I know that can be so hard in this day and age when it seems like everything has a hidden meaning or is steeped in innuendo. I will be posting this verse somewhere visible for my children as well. This verse carries so much wisdom. If we walk with wicked and evil men we will soon learn their ways. Better to just turn and go the opposite direction.
At church last night, the Pastor preached from the book of Job, and this verse stuck out to me. I had been stressed out for most of the day about some legislation that had passed in California, and it was affecting my spirit. As soon as I heard and read this verse, I realized that God is still in control. Nothing will pass without His knowledge and approval, and if it is His will, I have no need to be upset about it. God gives us freedoms, and He can take them away. Although I don’t know His reasoning or His plan, I can rest assured that all things work together for Him. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
As we celebrate the resurrection this month, I want to remember that all that Jesus did-how He lived and how He died-He did for me. So that I can have eternal life with Him in Heaven. And so can you, as long as you believe!
